The Outpatient Clinic of the Endemic Department in Kasralainy Hospital is the gate for the patients to be examined, diagnosed, treated, admitted, investigated or referred to other clinics or departments.

The Outpatient Clinic offers the patients the following services :

Clinical Examination:

The patient undergoes full clinical examination including : general examination for different body systems and local examination for the gastrointestinal tract, liver and spleen.
Theses examinations are performed by well qualified and competent staff members like lecturers, assistant lecturers and residents and are administered FREE OF CHARGE to all patients.

Investigations:

The staff in charge decides for each patient the appropriate investigation needed.
Most of the routine investigations are available for all patients free of charge.
In particular the more expensive investigations like AFP, Viral Markers and Tumor Markers are performed for socially underprivileged patients for a symbolic fee or completely free of charge against submission of a certificate from the Social Services.

Diagnosis and Treatment:

Subsequently to examination and investigations the patient is diagnosed and, according to severity of his condition, either admitted to the Inpatient Sector or a prescription is issued by the staff in charge.

For socially challenged patients, unavailable medicine can be supplied out of donations.

Admission:

In case the health status of the patient corresponds with the department's conditions for admission, the patient is processed to be admitted to the department's inpatient sector.

Reports:

The patient receives a medical report with detailed information about history and course of his disease. This report represents a reference for follow up, further treatment or referral to another clinic. It also may be submitted as a certification for obtaining sick leave and/or subvention for medication by social services.

Therapeutic Tapping:

Therapeutic Tapping is performed in cases of Massive Ascites, if the condition of the patient allows, in the Outpatient Clinic by the staff in charge in completely sterile environment.
